We arrived in Milan on a very cold November morning. This is La Duomo in the main piazza, city centre. Every steeple has a "much larger than life" statue perched on top. Note the gold embossed Virgin Mary in the upper right corner. The street outside our Milan hotel, day one We didn't stay in Milan for long, too cold! The EuroRail train to Florence was a treat and fast!
From Milan we had planned on travelling to Venice next but due to heavy winter flooding it was well and truly under water

These are outside the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, considered one of the finest art galleries in the world. Many of these are replicas but that certainly takes nothing away from them as they seem, at least to my untrained eye, to be as well done as the originals, many of which we saw. The Ponte Vecchio, a famous bridge in Florence. Very expensive shops (mostly jewelry) from end to end
