Municipality of Delta

Known as "The Home of the Sun God", South Delta is tucked in the extreme south west corner of mainland British Columbia. The two urban centers, Ladner & Tsawwassen, (approx 5 km apart) are separated by a belt of some of Canada's most fertile farmland.

Just 20 minutes south of Vancouver at the U.S. border and bounded by water on 3 sides, the 40,000 residents of South Delta enjoy a very temperate year round climate. With the most hours of sunshine of any area in the Lower Mainland and fresh on-shore breezes making it virtually pollution free, the area is a very popular destination for young and old alike.

Local industry includes farming, a commercial fishery, the Roberts Bank Superport and two large industrial complexes at Tilbury Island and Annacis Island, both on the Fraser River.

B.C.Ferry service to Vancouver Island and the beautiful Gulf Islands is located at Tsawwassen and there are half a dozen marinas for private vessels of all sizes.

Just a couple of local tourist attractions are the world famous Reifel Wildfowl Refuge on Westham Island in Ladner and the warm sandy beaches of Boundary Bay at the International border between Tsawwassen and the peninsula of Point Roberts in the U.S.A.
